Why Do We Never Hear About War?
One thing that always struck me as odd was the fact that America loves to talk about peace, but continues to engage in conflict. Plenty of people who speak out against this violence are silenced or their voices are rarely heard unless actively sought out. I think this is because war is what keeps America rich and powerful. For example the killing and murder of the people in Iraq just to steal oil, or a more recent case being the Ukraine proxy war so Russian resources can be taken. The reason that the voices talking about antiwar are silenced is because of the awareness they spread. The American government does a good job at making you hear and see what they want you to.
The point of the antiwar voices is to oppose the United States government and military. This means all their viewpoints, statements, beliefs, and actions. Having these critiques and negative views on them would make them look bad or wrong in the eyes of the average American. Instead, what they do is tell you they are handling everything, protecting you, and doing everything to protect American freedom. Most of these antiwar voices are also non-profit organizations, this means that they definitely are not getting the front page of the news, or talked about on your local news channel. In fact I believe that some Americans prefer to hear about conflict with other countries because they take pride in the fact that America is a world power. Perhaps the main reason these antiwar voices are not widespread is because it shares a lot of foreign news that happens as a result of American conflict. All Americans see is their side of the story and the conflict, if the foreign news was able to be easily accessible I bet plenty of other Americans would want to stop the continuous conflict.
